Prairie Trailer began in 1961 when Jim Lesmeister opened Jim's Machine Shop on west Highway 28.
In 1981, Ken Lesmeister along with his brother purchased the business from their dad. The business was renamed Brothers Fleet. Ken took over ownership in 1995 and the business was renamed Prairie Trailer.
The construction of a new building in 2006 was the realization of a major expansion for the company which now employs over 14 in sales, parts, service, trailer rebuilding, grit blasting and painting. In December of 2021, Joe and Shayla Mitchell purchased Prairie Trailer from Ken and it is now Prairie Trailer Sales.

In addition to Walking Floors, Prairie Trailer also offers a large inventory of drop, double drop, van, and tipper trailers. We are an authorized dealer for XL Specialized, and Felling Trailers. Service after the sale is important to us. With our full parts department, 6 service bays, and state of the art blast and paint booth, we are able to meet all of your trailer needs. We work closely with our trailer manufacturers to address any warranty claims on new trailers. We want you to be completely satisfied with your trailer purchase! We also offer insurance estimates, and will work with your insurance company on any necessary repairs you may need.
